Terms of Service

Last updated 17 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and ShelfScout ("we", "us") for your use of the ShelfScout website and app at www.useshelfscout.com (the "service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you use ShelfScout for a business, you agree on its behalf.

1. Your account

  • You must be at least 18, or using the service for a business you are authorised to act for.
  • Give accurate details and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Each account is for one person. You choose your plan and manage billing from your account. Don't share your login with other people.

2. Plans and payment

  • ShelfScout is a paid service. There is no free plan. Plans are billed monthly or yearly in US dollars, in advance, through our payment provider Stripe.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a period. If it still fails, we may limit or suspend access until it is paid.
  • We may change prices. We will tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
  • Prices do not include taxes that may apply where you live; any such taxes are added at checkout where required.

3. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time from Billing & plan → Manage billing. Refunds follow our Refund Policy.

4. Using the service

You may use ShelfScout for your own product research and that of your business. You must not:

  • resell, publish or share the data, scores or exports in bulk, or use them to build a competing product or dataset;
  • scrape, copy or download the service by automated means, except through features we provide such as CSV export;
  • try to get around plan limits, security measures or access controls;
  • reverse engineer the service, or interfere with or overload it;
  • use the service for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful.

5. Estimates, not advice

Sales, revenue, profit, fee and score figures in ShelfScout are estimates. They are built from third-party marketplace data and our own models, and they can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Answers from the AI Product Hunter can also be wrong.

ShelfScout is a research tool. It is not financial, legal, tax or business advice, and it does not guarantee that any product will sell or make a profit. You are responsible for your own decisions, including checking suppliers, costs, regulations and Amazon's policies before you buy stock.

6. Amazon

ShelfScout is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Amazon. Amazon and related names are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Product names, brands and images shown in the service belong to their owners.

7. Your content

Your watchlists, saved searches, notes and AI conversations remain yours. You allow us to store and process them only to run the service for you. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal information.

8. Our service

We own the ShelfScout software, design, scoring method and branding. These terms don't transfer any of those rights to you. We may improve, change or remove features over time. We aim to keep the service available, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance.

9. Australian Consumer Law and liability

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under that law.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:

  • we provide the service "as is" and give no other promises about it;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost sales or the cost of stock you buy based on information in the service;
  • our total liability to you for any claim is limited, at our option, to supplying the service again or to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Suspension and ending

You can stop using ShelfScout and close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, after giving notice where reasonable. If we end the service for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For important changes we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the updated terms apply.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of New South Wales.
