Refund Policy

This policy explains what happens to your payment when you cancel a ShelfScout subscription. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

Monthly plans

You can cancel a monthly plan at any time from Billing & plan → Manage billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the month you have paid for, and it is not renewed after that.

We don't refund the rest of a month after you cancel, or months you didn't use.

Yearly plans

You can cancel a yearly plan at any time. If you cancel after your first month, you can ask for a refund of 70% of the value of the full months left in your year.

  • A month's value is your yearly price divided by 12.
  • The month you are in when you cancel is not refunded, so your first month is never refunded.
  • "Full months left" are counted from your next monthly anniversary to the end of your year.

Example: you pay $323.89 for Pro yearly and cancel 3 months and 10 days in. You are in month 4, so 8 full months are left. Their value is $26.99 × 8 = $215.93, and your refund is 70% of that: $151.15.

When the refund is made, your plan ends straight away.

How to ask for a yearly refund

Email support@useshelfscout.com from the address on your account, saying that you want to cancel and be refunded. If you have already cancelled in Manage billing, email us anyway; the refund is worked out from the day we receive your email. We reply within 3 business days, and refunds go back to the card you paid with. Your bank may take 5 to 10 business days to show it.

Changing plans

If you move to a higher or lower plan, Stripe adjusts your charge for the rest of the billing period. This is a plan change, not a refund.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this policy limits those rights. If there is a major failure with the service, you are entitled to cancel and receive a refund for the unused portion, or compensation for its reduced value, whatever this policy says.
